BIOGRAPHY
In 2019, CLINTON FEARON celebrates 50 years of music and career. It was in 1969 that he joined the GLADIATORS, a small Jamaican reggae group just starting out, where the young artist took on roles as a singer, then guitarist, bassist, and backing vocalist. The group quickly grew into a reference in the '70s with cult hits like "Chatty Chatty Mouth" and "Rich Man Poor Man," for which CLINTON FEARON was the vocalist. During this time, he also collaborated with legends as a bassist, working with everyone from COXSONE to LEE PERRY, showcasing his many talents while remaining highly productive.
By the late '80s, the GLADIATORS went on tour in the United States, and CLINTON FEARON accompanied them, but he increasingly felt the desire to pursue a solo career. This led him to form THE DEFENDERS with some GLADIATORS members and release his first EP in 1989. However, it was truly in 1994 that his solo career began, allowing a wider audience to discover his mystical voice.
He notably made his mark on reggae history with albums such as "MI AN’ MI GUITAR" (2005), "THIS MORNING" (2016), and his latest, "HISTORY SAY" (September 2019). While waiting for his next album, CLINTON FEARON regularly tours Europe and France, which he particularly loves.
Each of his concerts commands respect and admiration for this great man of reggae, who has managed to traverse decades with talent, remaining one of the few Jamaicans still capable of producing new classics.
