Few women manage to carve out a place in the highly exclusive world of reggae, but NATTALI RIZE is one of them. Her undeniable stage talent, and especially her distinctive voice with occasionally “Rihanna-like” tones, captivated Jamaican producers. Originally from Australia and coming from a largely rock background, she didn’t initially have all the tools to win over reggae audiences. Yet, in a short time, she became a favorite in Jamaican studios: her powerful voice contrasts with her delicate appearance. A rare gem worth listening to, as it has become hard to find such sensitivity and finesse layered over such striking riddims these days.
