Of Guyanese origin, BLAKKAMOORE moved to Brooklyn at a young age, immersing himself in hip-hop culture from an early age. This diverse background fueled his desire to blend sounds and juggle cultures. His style is a vibrant mix of urban music and tropical reggae dancehall influences. He quickly became a respected figure in the music industry, collaborating with artists such as MAJOR LAZER, DJ PREMIER, and SNOOP DOGG, for whom he wrote numerous tracks on SNOOP LION's Grammy-nominated reggae album "REINCARNATED" in 2013.
On his new album "UPWARD SPIRAL", BLAKKAMOORE demonstrates how deeply reggae and hip-hop are connected by their histories, origins, and influences.
