20 years of career—what a significant milestone in a band's life! With nearly 1,000 concerts and 150,000 albums sold, packed venues, unusual travels, and a multitude of festivals, the musicians of DANAKIL have experienced countless adventures and collective moments!
Starting from nothing back in high school, this joyful group of friends took on the somewhat whimsical challenge of forming a reggae band. Without hesitation, each member chose an instrument, and the small troupe booked a rehearsal slot at the local community center.
Little by little, DANAKIL found the chemistry between the inspirations and talents of each band member, merging Jamaican reggae roots with the French language. Now, 20 years later, the band performs on the biggest stages in Europe!
They remain humble, naturally creating a bond with their fans and audience at every concert, just like in their early days. This unique atmosphere has greatly contributed to the band's success, elevating them to the top of the French reggae scene, where they have left their distinct mark, characterized by independence and activism.
Indeed, DANAKIL has always sought to preserve its freedom, first by self-producing their albums and then by establishing their own label. BACO RECORDS was launched in 2011 and now nurtures and supports numerous other musical talents in all aspects of their careers: recording, album production, tours, distribution, digital, promotion...
