Founded in 1998, GROUNDATION is among the legends of world reggae.
The mythical California-based reggae jazz band has reformed around its leader, HARRISON STAFFORD, who selects the cream of musicians from the prestigious Sonoma State University, just like him. With the original GROUNDATION's reggae sound still infused with jazz, this new generation brings its technically dazzling talent and creativity, ensuring a smooth transition to the next generation. The thousands of fans of the band rediscover the incomparable experience they had come to appreciate and support up to that point.
The result of this new project, the album "THE NEXT GENERATION," was released in September 2018 by BACO RECORDS. Each of the new musicians contributes their influences, subtly coloring the album with funk, Latin, and African notes. The groove is incredible, and HARRISON STAFFORD remains as powerful and spiritual as ever! Several world tours have met the expectations of fans, delivering concerts that blend improvisation with total mastery—a high-voltage sonic communion that propels the band into new spheres. The group took advantage of its time in Europe to record its first live album titled "THE NEXT GENERATION LIVE," recorded in Italy and released on June 5, 2020!
