On Thursday, March 30, after a year in 2022 that marked her return with new singles and a tour of major reggae festivals, QUEEN OMEGA will be in France, specifically in Paris at La Bellevilloise, to present her new album " Freedom Legacy " (available for pre-order here)
QUEEN OMEGA , whose real name is Jeneile Osborne, seems to have lived her life through music; she took her first steps on stage and television at the age of 9, already writing her own calypsos—lyrical songs originating from Trinidad and Tobago.
She grew up in a family where music was omnipresent, with voices like Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston dominating the atmosphere, and their influences are quite evident in her singing. Alongside these influences, she developed a strong connection with reggae and dancehall. It was only natural for her to turn to these musical styles to convey her incisive lyrics. She also explored her DJ skills, which quickly became a key element in her music, taking her to new heights.
She rapidly became a prominent figure in the female reggae scene, known for her inspiring and engaged lyrics advocating for women's causes and the magnetic power she exudes through her music. After three albums and several notable performances, QUEEN OMEGA focuses on her project " Freedom Legacy ".
This new album is presented as an introspective journey and an engaged ode. It carries conscious messages with lyrics that are both feminist and anti-racist—themes that are dear to her and that are sure to resonate on a large scale. With a benevolent strength, she addresses her children and her listeners, aiming to inspire change in a world that can sometimes be difficult to understand.
She collaborates with several artists for features, including JULIAN MARLEY, SOOM T, MARCUS GAD, YANISS ODUA, KUSHITE, and JALIFA.
For this multi-talented woman—mother, singer, lyricist, activist, and more—music must be a vehicle for commitment, solidarity, and love, to ensure a viable society for her children and future generations; her lyrics are calls for peaceful collective action and unarmed struggles to save humanity from its own shortcomings.
With this impressive background, QUEEN OMEGA will settle in at La Bellevilloise at the end of March. We have already had the chance to experience a broad preview of this album, with singles like "Fittest," "Wise Queens," "See You Down," and "Lioness."
A live session was conducted in our studio, an incredible BACO SESSION available on our YouTube channel , which serves as a perfect warm-up for the release party on March 30.
